MySQL change user password


mysqladmin -u root password [newpassword]

mysqladmin -u root -p [oldpassword] [newpassword]


- or -

mysql -u root -p
mysql> use mysql;
mysql> update user set password=PASSWORD("NEWPASSWORD") where user='root';
mysql> flush privileges;
mysql> quit
